  • Is it possible to setup my desk phone so that my assistant also gets called and answered?



  1. Login to the Voxter PISTON interface as the admin user as provided to you by Voxter or your administrator.
  2. Under 'Hosted PBX' (or 'VoIP Services'), click Callflows
  3. On the left pane, scroll to the extension or phone number you would like to make the changes.
  4. Take a note of the current callflow configuration (or make a screenshot) as you are going to delete it to make a new one.
  5. Remove each box in the callflow by clicking on the X on the upper right of each boxes.
  6. Assuming that the callflow consisted of a basic User, then a Voicemail, then the solution is to replace the User box with a Ring Group box (located on the right side):
    1. Add the Ring Group box to the callflow by dragging the box from the right into the centre of the blue box.
    2. A Ring Group pop-up window will appear.
    3. Fill in a name for "Name this ring group" such as "Joe's phone ext 1005"
    4. Leave Ring Strategy and Ringback as is.
    5. On the left side, click Devices instead of Users.
    6. Drag the secretary's deskphone extension to the right side.
    7. Drag your deskphone's extension to the right side.
    8. Optionally, drag any other devices such as a the secretary's cell device (if one exists) to the right side.
    9. Click OK.
    10. The Ring group box is now configured.
    11. On the right side, drag the Voicemail to the Ring group box.
    12. A pop-up window will appear.  
    13. Select the extension that voicemails should go to and then click OK.
    14. Click Save changes
    15. Do a test call to make sure everything works.
