How can I auto email voicemail(s) and have them deleted from my phone?

Description

  • Can I retroactively forward a voicemail to an email if I didn't enable the email voicemail feature?
  • How can I auto email voicemail(s) from my phone?

 

Resolution

It is not possible to retroactively forward voicemails to an email.

Step 1: Enabling email notification

  1. Login into PISTON as the admin user.
  2. Hover the mouse on Hosted PBX, Advanced, then click Users.
  3. Click the user in question on the left pane.
  4. In 'Email Notifications' add a checkmark to voicemail.
  5. Click Save on the bottom.

Step 2: Adding or updating the email address of the user for voicemail emails

  1. Hover the mouse on Hosted PBX, Advanced, then click Users.
  2. Click the user in question on the left pane.
  3. In 'Email', verify it is correct or update it accordingly.
  4. Click Save.

Step 3: Optionally, set to delete voicemail after an email copy has been sent

  1. Hover the mouse on Hosted PBX, Advanced, then click Voicemail.
  2. Click the voicemail box number on the left pane.
  3. Click Advanced then Options.
  4. Add a checkmark to 'Delete After Notification'.
  5. Click Save

Step 4: Optionally, add additional email addresses for email copies to be sent to

  1. Hover the mouse on Hosted PBX, Advanced, then click Voicemail.
  2. Click the voicemail box number on the left pane.
  3. Click Advanced then Notifications.
  4. In the 'Voicemail-to-Email Notifications' field, add any number of additional email addresses to receive voicemail emails separated by a comma.
  5. Click Save.
