How do I reset my Polycom phone?
Resolution
Case: Most Polycom phones
Method I: Reset Local Configuration
- On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
- Enter the phone's password.
- The default is '456'
- Choose Admin Settings.
- Select Reset to Defaults.
- From the choices, select Reset Local Configuration.
- Select Yes.
- The phone is now rebooting.
Method II: Reset Web Configuration
- On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
- Enter the phone's password.
- The default is '456'
- Choose Admin Settings.
- Select Reset to Defaults.
- From the choices, select Reset Web Configuration.
- Select Yes.
- The phone is now rebooting.
Method III: Reset Device Settings
- On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
- Enter the phone's password.
- The default is '456'
- Choose Admin Settings.
- Select Reset to Defaults.
- From the choices, select Reset Device Settings.
- Select Yes.
- The phone is now rebooting.
Method IV: Format file system
- On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
- Enter the phone's password.
- The default is '456'
- Choose Admin Settings.
- Select Reset to Defaults.
- From the choices, select Format file system.
- Select Yes.
- The phone is now rebooting.
Method V: Reset to Factory
- On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
- Enter the phone's password.
- The default is '456'
- Choose Admin Settings.
- Select Reset to Defaults.
- From the choices, select Reset to Factory.
- Select Yes.
- The phone is now rebooting.
Case: Cisco 7936 (Polycom technology)
- Press the Application button.
- Press **1.
- Let the phone reboot.
