How do I reset my Polycom phone?

 

Resolution

Case: Most Polycom phones

Method I: Reset Local Configuration

  1. On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
  2. Enter the phone's password.
    • The default is '456'
  3. Choose Admin Settings.
  4. Select Reset to Defaults.
  5. From the choices, select Reset Local Configuration.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. The phone is now rebooting.

Method II: Reset Web Configuration

  1. On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
  2. Enter the phone's password.
    • The default is '456'
  3. Choose Admin Settings.
  4. Select Reset to Defaults.
  5. From the choices, select Reset Web Configuration.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. The phone is now rebooting.

Method III: Reset Device Settings

  1. On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
  2. Enter the phone's password.
    • The default is '456'
  3. Choose Admin Settings.
  4. Select Reset to Defaults.
  5. From the choices, select Reset Device Settings.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. The phone is now rebooting.

Method IV: Format file system

  1. On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
  2. Enter the phone's password.
    • The default is '456' 
  3. Choose Admin Settings.
  4. Select Reset to Defaults.
  5. From the choices, select Format file system.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. The phone is now rebooting.

Method V: Reset to Factory

  1. On the phone, press Menu, Settings, Advanced.
  2. Enter the phone's password.
    • The default is '456'
  3. Choose Admin Settings.
  4. Select Reset to Defaults.
  5. From the choices, select Reset to Factory.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. The phone is now rebooting.

Case: Cisco 7936 (Polycom technology)

  1. Press the Application button.
  2. Press **1.
  3. Let the phone reboot.
